Bocconi University Milano

Bocconi University was established in Milan in 1902, with a generous endowment from Ferdinando Bocconi, a wealthy merchant. The University of Luigi Bocconi, which was named after his lost son, was designated as the first Italian university to pursue a degree in economics because of his missing son. Bocconi has been a promoter of democracy, pluralism, social and economic development since it was created. Bocconi is historically an elite university albeit a private institution. It has continuously advocated and exercised equal opportunities among its many generations of students through active promotion of the education of underprivileged and noteworthy students.

Bocconi is nowadays a globally recognized academic university in business, finance, business, data science, political science, cyber risk, and law. Research programs of Bocconi University are sponsored by domestic and foreign organizations. Since Bocconi acts as the main node in the European and global network of economic and business universities, it exchanges faculty with other European and American universities and business schools and works together on significant amounts of projects. Bocconi University has close ties and contacts with prominent corporations and international platforms, with leading foreign organizations, and with their officers and managers, so as to evaluate, introduce innovative strategies and launch new research projects. Bocconi University has an Undergraduate School, a Bachelor’s School, a Law School, and a Ph.D. School. What makes Bocconi special is the activities for high school students, including mathematical competitions, the United Nations Model, and other activities to help orient high school students in secondary education. The school is trying to educate its students through innovative teaching methods to best prepare them for their senior future roles in managerial positions. The SDA Bocconi Management School, established in 1971, offers post-experience management education. Bocconi provides Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. degrees in Management, Economics, Law, and other subjects. It also introduces many post-experience services and operates several hundred specialized courses in all fields of private and public management.

Fees At Bocconi University

For 2021-22 a.y., for students enrolled in their first year in a Bachelor of Science or Law program, tuition and fees at Bocconi are set at approximately € 14,000 per year. This amount may be increased based on the 2020 inflation rate or any updates. The 1st installment – advance payment always includes:

  • registration fee of €285,00;
  • regional tax of € 140,00;
  • fixed stamp duties of €16,00;
  • MAV generation cost of €3,00 They may differ based on the inflation rates of the year.

Scholarships at Bocconi University

The University has long adhered to an investment policy that supports these students to deliver higher education to all talented and deserved students. Our ever-expanding financial assistance system is based on both points and needs. Opportunities can be different every year due to donors’ funds to the University. The financing opportunities available for 2021-2022 offer families varying degrees of support and, in most cases, consider the economic situation of students’ families.

Each opportunity consists of an opportunity that disclaims a different percentage based on the needs of the family. Financial assistance is usually assigned according to the family’s economic situation and can be approved in the following years, depending on the student’s credit-measured points earnings. The exceptions are:

  1. The Right to University Education financial aid, as it has specific application requirements and applications must be submitted every year according to the rules for each academic year
  2. Awards that take into account student academic achievements.

Language requirements for MSc programs

All International applicants are required to meet specific language requirements, that are not compulsory for selection or to complete the application, but only in case of admission and to complete the enrollment. When filling in the online application, candidates can indicate whether they have already met the language requirement or they intend to obtain certification by the set deadline.

To confirm the offer, applicants must give evidence of meeting the language requirement by the enrollment deadline, and in any case by and no later than June 30th, 2021, otherwise their enrollment will be canceled.

MSc programs taught in English, it is not necessary to prove any knowledge of the Italian language, but it is necessary to demonstrate an English language knowledge at least equal to B2 level of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In particular, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • university qualification (or secondary school diploma) awarded in English or
  • one of the recognized international English language certificates listed below or
  • English exam at B2 level (or higher) passed in a university course. (TOEFL 88+, IELTS 6 or at least 5.5 in every section)

Admission Test Structure

You will have to submit your GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) /GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) score or, alternatively, you can take the Bocconi Test; The Bocconi selection test for Specialized Masters consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, divided into 4 subject areas: Reading and comprehension, Logic, Mathematics, Numerical reasoning. The Bocconi selection test is in Italian but you can choose to take it in English when filling out the online application for admission.
